For today’s hop I created two cards inspired by my crafty friend and super talented designer Zsoka Marko. She is one of the most generous people I have met in my life, supportive and always there for me. Her gorgeous projects inspire me day in and day out; I’m in awe of her creativity, and will always be one of her biggest fans. Make sure you follow her if you aren’t already!

Here are my cards:

I tried to reproduce those elements that really stand out in Zsoka’s work: color, patterns, and dimension. You can find the cards I took as example here.

For the first card, I started by adhering the Altenew Dotted Washi Tape on the top and bottom edge of an A2 card panel. To create more separation between the washi and the white background, I added a strip of black textured cardstock where the two met.

I stamped several images from the Flower Arrangement Stamp Set using a variety of Altenew Crisp Dye Inks, and adhered them down with foam dots to create dimension. The sentiment, which comes in the Life Is Awesome Stamp Set, was heat-embossed with Altenew Translucent Pearl Crisp Embossing Powder. Black splatters finished the card.

The second card features the same elements with a different design.

This time I adhered the washi tape in a diagonal to the lower portion of my card panel. Again, I used a strip of black cardstock to separate the two parts. The flower cluster here is a bit fuller than the one in the first card, and covers the top right corner entirely. For the sentiment, I die cut the word “Love” from the Script Words Die set three times, so to make it thicker and dimensional. I then decided to hand-stitch it in place, as I couldn’t find an adhesive that would work with the washi tape.

Black splatters added the final touch.

Thank you for visiting today. Your next stop is Laurie Willison. Don’t forget to comment for a chance to win one of the many amazing prizes.

  1. My favorite part is the black & white background. So simple and yet it gives the card an elegant look. Best thing, it’s universal. I can see having several card backgrounds made in advance to make putting together a last-minute card super quick.
