Altenew – 25 DAYS OF CHRISTMAS TAGS 2018

Hello, crafty friends! Altenew is one of the sponsors of the 8th Annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags with Tracey McNeely. I went with traditional colors for my tags this year. Reds and greens, with a touch of black.

For the first tag, I used the gorgeous Bountiful Branch Stamp Set. The number of layers in this set helps you achieve a very realistic look – I love the detailed images, as well as the endless possibilities in terms of color combinations.

After stamping the branches on Neenah Solar White 80lbs cardstock, I matted the tag with red cardstock, just to bring in more of the red color. I also heat-embossed the sentiment with Altenew Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder. A few clear drops and festive ribbons finished the tag.

The second tag is slightly smaller, and features another beautiful set: Holiday Bow.

I stamped several images on smooth white cardstock, and cut them with the coordinating dies. Before arranging them onto the tag, I die cut the Watercolor Stripes Cover Die and adhered it to the bottom layer for more texture and interest. I love the white-on-white effect! I used foam dots for the big bow, as I wanted more dimension.

The sentiment comes from the Happy Holidays stamp set. Again, I heat-embossed it with Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder. To make the colors stand out a bit more, I matted the tag with black cardstock.
