We R Memory Keepers – Easter Pinwheels

Hello, We R friends! Enza here to share a new project using some fun tools. Does it ever happen to you to rediscover a tool you had forgotten about? I remember loving the Pinwheel Punch Board when it came out and used it constantly for so many projects! I thought it was fun to create pinwheel party favors for Easter. They came together in no time and are perfect as last-minute diy craft.

I started by choosing patterned paper from the gorgeous Sparkle City collection by Shimelle; I went with more pastel colors that reminded me of Easter. I then trimmed it to measure 4”x4” and used the Punch Board to create the shape for the pinwheels.

The Punch Board also comes with instructions on how to make nested pinwheels, which are not only really pretty and colorful but quite easy to assemble. As you can see in the picture below, I used brads in coordinating colors for the center.

Once those were ready, I hot glued paper party straws to the back; to cover the glue, I also punched a small circle from white cardstock and adhered it on top.

For the sentiment, I wanted something elegant and festive, so I used the Foil Quill system to create little tags. The Kelly Creates USB Drive has a beautiful handwritten alphabet that is perfect for any occasion. I went with the Aqua Foil, which complemented the other colors in the paper. I opted for a simple “Happy Easter”, but I could have personalized the tags a bit more and make them into place cards too! Tip: for small and detailed designs, I use the Fine Tip Pen.

To finish, I tied both the bag of chocolate eggs and the tag to the straws with ribbon.

What do you think? Are these party favors something you would make to surprise your guests? I think they would be perfect for birthday parties and many other occasions.

Thank you for stopping by.

We R Memory Keepers – Valentine Flip Book

Hello We R friends! I’m back to share a Valentine’s Day project created with the help of a few We R Memory Keepers tools. Some of these tools have become a staple for me; I use them all the time for a variety of crafty projects, as they allow me to get the job done quickly and efficiently.

For today I’ve decided to make a Valentine loaded trifold flip book to send to one of my best crafty friends.

I started by trimming my paper to measure 7×12 inches, and scored it at 4 and 8 inches with the Mini Score Board.

I wanted the folding flaps to have slanted corners, so I marked them vertically at 3.5 inches an d cut them with a craft knife using the 12” ruler that comes in the Ultimate Tool Kit as my guide.

Once the base was ready, I started making my embellishments. First, rosettes in different sizes, which I simply embellished with a sticker in the center and transformed into paper clips.

Next two tags, that I used to wrap washi tape around and add as a little surprise.

Lastly, I created a “love” word with the Happy Jig, which I thought it would be a nice and sweet addition.

In order to hold all these goodies, I added pockets to each flap by simply stitching a strip of paper down. I embellished each section of the flip book with lots of die cuts and stickers from the Crate Paper La La Love collection.

A couple of weeks ago I made some Valentines Pockets with the Pocket Punch Board for my kids’ classmates (you can find the tutorial here), and I liked them so much that I “stole” a couple to add to this flip book. They not only fit perfectly, but allowed me to bring in an extra interactive element that is always fun to discover 😉

Thank you for stopping by today! I can’t wait to give this flip book to my sweet friend. What crafts are you making for Valentine’s Day?

We R Memory Keepers – Valentine’s Day Cards with the Stitch Happy Pen

Hello everyone! Today I’m bringing you a set of cards created with the new, super fun Stitch Happy Pen by We R Memory Keepers.

I have always loved hand-stitching, especially on paper; I think it adds a lovely texture and accentuates the handmade feel of your projects. I usually use a cut file as my template, or draw my own design and then pierce the holes to make it easier to stitch. With the Stitch Happy Pen Kit, you have everything you need – you get a punch needle, a magnetic frame, threaders, and six stencils to create cute embroidery designs.

Since Valentine’s Day is fast approaching, I thought I would make a couple of cards using two of the stencils included in the kit. I started with the “love” sentiment. Normally, you would just mark the holes with a pencil first and then place the paper in the magnetic frame; but I found out that positioning both paper and stencil in the frame and then lightly piercing the holes before removing the stencil and starting to stitch made things a bit easier – the stencil stayed in place thanks to the magnetic frame, and the fact I had already pierced the paper required less pressure with the punch needle, avoiding any unwanted marks or creases.

I used the beautiful La La Love collection by Crate Paper for both cards.

The hand-stitched “love” sentiment is the focal point on the first card, and all the other elements just complement it by bringing in more color and texture.

For the second card, I used the flower stencil.

I used Bazzill embossed cardstock as my base. Once I finished the design, I simply backed it with more colorful patterned paper and washi tape.

I love how these cards turned out. The embroidery designs add such a beautiful touch, and with the Stitch Happy Pen it’s easier than ever.
