Hello, crafty friends! I have very exciting news to share today. I have joined the We R Memory Keepers Design Team for the remaining of 2018. This is a dream come true for me. I have always loved the fun and versatile tools they come up with, and am looking forward to sharing more of my projects with you.

Today I have a travel layout featuring the amazing Happy Jig. This tool is a must-have! You can make any design or shape with it, and it sure gives your scrapbook pages a unique and fun look.

I knew I wanted a big title for my page, so I started by creating my own custom words. I took inspiration from some of the letters in the instruction booklet that comes with the tool, as well as the We R Happy Jig Instagram account. Once you figure out how it works, it is pretty easy to make any shape you can think of. The wire is flexible and easy to work with, and all the different colors are perfect to personalize your projects. It’s also nice that you can vary the size of the letters, allowing for lots of options.

I picked blue and pink wire for this page. I actually made the words before even choosing a collection to work with. I was that excited to use my new toy!

To keep the words in place, I just hand-stitched them with embroidery thread. I have tried other options, but this worked best for me.

The other tool I used for this layout is the Tag Punch Board – another essential if you ask me. I love adding tags to my projects whenever I can, and this makes it super easy and fast.

Here I used the tags as layering elements behind my photos.

Clique Kits – Field Notes: Punches and Mixed Media

Hello, Clique fans! I’m here today to share a new Traveler’s Notebook spread for Clique Kits. Look at all the fabulous goodies in the July Pool Party Travelers Notebook kit!

I went back to my good ol’ punches again. This is a floral border one from Martha Stewart that I have had in my stash for quite a while. The idea was to create a colorful background using different patterned paper from the Ain’t Life Grand collection featured in the kit.

On the opposite side of the page, I used a mixed media paper from Kaisercraft that came in the May Sorbet kit. After cutting it to fit, I simply colored it with a mini ink blending tool and shades of ink that matched the colors in the papers. One of the sentiments from the collection served as my title, which was placed in the center of the page and backed with some thread for added texture.

I layered the photo with a mix of patterned papers. The journaling, as well as some sentiments, were typed and then cut into strips.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope you felt inspired to use the July Pool Party Travelers Notebook Kit on your pages and maybe give your punches a try 😉

Have a lovely day!

Clique Kits – Geek Lab – Favorite

Hello, everyone. I’m back to share a fun layout featuring the awesome Clique Kits May Sorbet kit.
Paper punches are a great tool when it comes to give your pages a more unique look. I love using them, but rarely do anymore, as my die-cutting machine does all the work for me 😉 It felt like a nice change to take out my big box of punches and think of different ways to use them.
For my layout today, I picked three circular punches in different sizes (one of them has scalloped edges), and cut out several circles from a variety of patterned papers.
I then folded them in half, but didn’t glue them together. The idea was to create dimensional petals.  I used the colorful buttons in the Pink Fresh Studio Dream On collection for the inside of the flowers and tucked all the folded circles underneath them.
The smaller picture fit perfectly in between the flowers. A few layers of patterned papers and ephemera pieces were used to give the photo a more finished look.

For my title, I used the “Favorite” die cut included in the May Sorbet Kit. Simple and easy, but still bold enough to create some contrast with the rest of the colors.
I finished the layout with a couple of fun and colorful strips of washi tape at the bottom of the page and puffy stickers scattered all over the page.
Thank you for stopping by. Don’t forget to visit the Clique store for all your crafty needs. We also have a few challenges going on in the Clique Facebook group. You have until May 31st to play along for a chance to win a gift certificate to the store.
Have a lovely day!
