Pink Paislee – Simple Things Layout

Hello crafty friends! I’m back today to share a new layout with the amazing Horizon collection. The main inspiration here came from the unique shape of the butterflies on Paper 07. I love their elegant and delicate look, so I searched for a cut file that would give me a similar effect. I didn’t want to use a butterfly cut file, but something that would just give me the idea of a butterfly and its dainty wings. I know it’s a bit of a stretch to think of my design as a butterfly, but I love how it turned out! I hope I’m making sense. LOL!

I started with the Mandala Half cut file designed by Paige. It is such a beautiful, intricate design, perfect for what I had in mind. I cut it twice so to arrange each piece on opposite sides of the page. I backed only portions of them, mainly the leaves and some of the flowers, as I wanted the background paper to show through it.

After adhering the two halves down, I fussy cut flowers from Paper 02 and foam mounted them on top of other flowers on the cut file. I kept the embellishments to a minimum to balance the intricacy of the design.

I layered patterned paper and a fussy cut sentiment from Paper 01 behind my photo, while on each side I arranged two of the gorgeous, already-made tags that come in the collection. I so love tags and these ones are beautiful!

Since I didn’t have ephemera pieces or stickers when I made the layout, I kept fussy cutting elements from the cut-apart sheet (Paper 01). The “favorite place” heart and the “happy day” banner also came from the same paper. I then fussy cut a few butterflies to place around the photo and finished the layout with one of the super cute flower paper clips.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope I have given you some ideas on how to use this gorgeous collection!

Pink Paislee – Colorful and Playful Layout

Hello, Pink Paislee friends. I’m so excited to share my very first layout with the gorgeous Horizon collection by Paige Evans. I love colorful papers and the ones in this collection are just amazing; the perfect combination of soft and bright, with the most beautiful patterns. Paper 03 is one of my favorites, so I decided to make it the star of my page.

Colorful patterned paper can be intimidating, especially if used as a base for your layout. One of the ways that works best for me in making a busy background work is with cut files. The cut file I used for this page allowed me to incorporate lots of colors and patterns without becoming overwhelming. The delicate scalloped border gives a romantic feel to the page, while the colors make it fun and playful.

I kept adding layers to my background; I adhered another paper with scalloped edges to the center of the cut file and a smaller layer cut from the same Paper 03 I used for the background on top of it, just to create continuity and repeat the design. Foam adhesive was used in between layers to achieve dimension.

To bring in more of the same colors, I fussy cut all the frames from Paper 18 and arranged them behind the photo. Before doing that, I trimmed the sentiments off and adhered some of them under the layers to form a frame.

Once that cluster was ready, I simply arranged lots of colorful flowers around it – I think I may have used the whole pack! I couldn’t resist 😉 They are lovely.

A few fussy cut butterflies from Paper 07 finished the layout! That’s all for today, friends. Thank you for stopping by. I hope you are inspired to create a colorful layout with the gorgeous Horizon collection!

Pink Paislee – Little Adventurer – Boy Layout

Hello crafty friends! I’m back today with a new layout featuring the super fun Little Adventurer collection. This time I picked the boy line to document an adorable photo of my little guy when he was five months old. Oh how I love his happy, toothless smile!

I wanted to create a fun, colorful layout, so I die cut lots of stars in different sizes from several papers in the 6×6 Paper Pad. I wasn’t sure about the design at this point; I just knew I wanted to achieve a layered look somehow and use a mix of embellishments around the photo. I trimmed a wide strip from Paper 09 and adhered it to the left side of the background for which I used Paper 10. I placed a scalloped border from the 6×12 Cardboard Sticker Sheet on the left side of the strip, while for the right side I created a huge cluster of stars. I alternated colors and sizes and used foam dots to adhere everything down. The glitter stars are beautiful! They bring in just the right amount of shine and texture.

I partially tucked the photo under the stars, but not before layering frames and die cuts from the Ephemera Pack behind it. I then added more stars and a few stickers. For the bottom of the photo I combined the two adorable stuffed animals and a sentiment.

To finish the layout, I created a smaller cluster with banner-shaped sentiments, a sticker, and a glitter star in the top left corner of the page.

I truly enjoyed playing with this collection, and hope I have inspired you to use it some how! Thank you for stopping by!
