Pink Paislee – Travel Themed Cards

Hello crafty friends. How about a couple travel themed cards today with gorgeous embellishments from the Horizon collection? I enjoyed creating them very much – so many fun bits and pieces to layer.

Both cards feature the same layering technique, where I combined elements of different thickness and texture.

For the first card, I trimmed a striped paper from the 6×6 Paper Pad to measure 4×5.25” and used it as my base. I then added a smaller piece of pink patterned paper which created separation from the background, allowing me to use more patterns on top without becoming too overwhelming. This is a general rule for me when layering elements: pattern-solid-pattern and so on. It seems to be working well most of the time 😉 I added the beautiful ready-to-use stitched tag, a chipboard frame, and a fussy cut piece from the cut-apart sheet. I finished the card with sentiments and a globe paper clip.

The second card follows the same design. Here instead of using pink patterned paper, I used a blue one and also added two strips to create a partial frame. Next a blue floral stitched tag and the super fun luggage chipboard sticker. I layered another tag behind it, two flower stickers, and the colorful bird.

I love how these travel cards turned out. It is amazing how much you can do with the gorgeous embellishments included in the Horizon collection.

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

Pink Paislee – To My Grandma

Hello, Pink Paislee friends. Enza here, and today I’m sharing a layout that has my heart. I don’t usually share much of my private life on social media, but as a documenter and memory keeper it’s inevitable sometimes. My grandma passed away a couple of weeks ago. I was so excited to see her this coming summer. After eight years we had finally planned to go back to Italy and visit the family; her desire was to see our kids and spend time with them – she hadn’t even met our little one yet 😦 Needless to say, it’s been a rough couple of weeks. My intention is not to make you feel sad or sorry for me. This layout is a tribute to her, a way for me to cope and honor her memory, now and always.

As you may have heard, the Horizon collection has hit JoAnn stores this month – they carry a new, amazing Project Pad that includes stickers, some of the papers from the collection, glitter paper, and solid cardstock in coordinating colors. That’s what I mostly used for my layout, along with a frame and a tag from the ephemera pack, and some puffy stickers.

I started by backing the Rose Wreath cut file designed by Paige with patterned paper and solid colored cardstock. I chose pinks, yellows, and shades of blue, which were some of my grandma’s favorite colors. I left some parts of the cut file as is – I love seeing the coral background peeking through.

Once the wreath was finished, I fussy cut the little flowers from one of the papers included in the Project Pad. I matted the photo with more patterned paper and a tag, and I also added a frame on top. Foam adhesive was used to give dimension.

I scattered the little flowers all around the page, concentrating especially on the photo. The flowers you see in the top right corner are stickers from the Project Pad, while the “love” word and the hearts come from the New Roads Puffy Phrase and Icons set.

To finish the layout, I simply added fussy cut butterflies and the date.

I love how this layout turned out and I think my grandma would have loved it too ❤

Don’t forget to check out your local JoAnn store for this gorgeous Project Pad and more items from the collection! Thank you for stopping by!

Pink Paislee – Dreamer Layout

Hi there crafty friends! One more for today 🙂 I’m bringing you something a bit different for me. 12×12 layouts are my thing – I love the big size and all the space I have to create, but 8.5×11” pages have always captured my attention, so I thought I would give it a try.

The gorgeous Paper 24, with its artistic paint strokes, inspired the whole composition of this layout. I found a layered dripping paint cut file that paired perfectly with it, and really helped showcase the idea I had in mind. I started by adhering the cut files to the lovely floral paper I used as background. I layered Paper 24 on top of another one of my favorites: Paper 09 – the ombre look is just amazing!

Once the background was ready, I worked on my photo, for which I printed two copies. I then trimmed one of them to make it fit inside the larger one, just to create more interest and make it pop more.

And now onto the fun part: embellishing! I created three clusters, two on opposite sides of the photo and one on the very top edge. I combined ephemera pieces, chipboard stickers, and fussy cut elements from both the new Horizon collection and Whimsical. The colors go so well together!

I love all the layers and dimension on this layout and how colorful it is. I find the 8.5×11” size to be really fun and I can definitely see myself making more pages like this.

That’s it for today! Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope I have given you some good ideas for your next page!
