The layout I am sharing today features two delicate and beautiful stamp sets: Happy Heart and Dream Big.

I decided to go for an ombre look and incorporate several shades of pink. I started by heat-embossing most of the images onto solid cardstock with Altenew Embossing Ink and Pure White Embossing Powder. I opted to use Golden Peach Embossing Powder on the lightest colored cardstock to bring in some variety and add more interest to the page.

For the background, I kept a tone-on-tone look by adhering a grid cut file onto the same color cardstock. The cut file also helped with the placement of the flowers, which were grouped in clusters. I then stamped and heat-embossed a few leaves onto gray cardstock so to create more layers in between the flowers. I have always loved the pink/gray combo! So soft and sophisticated.

I tucked the photo under four clusters, keeping the embellishments to a minimum, and just added the “You make my heart happy” sentiment from the same stamp set and the “Sweet” sentiment from the Folksy Florals set, which is also part of this new release.

To finish the layout, I adhered a few butterflies from the Dream Big stamp set onto the flowers. Again, I heat-emboss them with Golden Peach Embossing Powder and tried to match the shading to the colors of the flowers I was going to put them on.

Crate Paper – Wild Heart Layout

Hello everyone! Enza here, and today I’m sharing my very first layout featuring the new, gorgeous Wild Heart collection by Crate Paper. I love the vibrant colors and fun patterns of this line; it is versatile and perfect to document your everyday moments.

The first thing that caught my eye when I opened the box was the stamp set. So many possibilities with it. I really like the mix of big and small leaves, as well as the lovely sentiment in the same handwritten font you find throughout the collection. Here is the layout:

I decided to heat-emboss some leaves with copper embossing powder as I wanted them to match the warm colors of the other elements. I also stamped a few in a light pink color ink, again to coordinate with the rest of the collection. In order to create a cluster on one side of the photo, I layered the fussy-cut images with die-cuts and stickers. Everything was adhered down with foam dots for dimension. A fun rosette ribbon completed the cluster.

For the background, I cut the Planted patterned paper somewhat in half, following along the lines of the design and placed it in the top portion of the page. I love all the fun and colorful die-cuts that come in the ephemera pack. Here I layered a few of them behind the photo; I also arranged stickers and the “love” paper clip to form another cluster on the right side.

The glitter foam stickers are perfect to add sparkly details here and there on your page. I used the “Favorite” sentiment as my title, and added the big butterfly at the bottom to give a “finished” look to the design.

To balance the layout, I layered a few more elements in the opposite corner of the page; a mix of stickers, die-cuts, foam elements that bring in lots of texture and interest.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my process and will feel inspired to start creating with the new Wild Heart collection.

Altenew – Sketch Challenge #9

Hello, Altenew fans!

It’s Enza and I am excited to be hosting the Sketch Challenge #9.

The sketch I made is based on one of the first layouts I created with Altenew products and you can find it here.

Stencil as a stitching template @Altenew @enzamg #scrapbooking #stencils

I followed the sketch pretty closely. Other than the variation in color, the design is pretty much the same as my previous layout.

I used the Floral Drape Stencil to give some color to the background and create the diagonal design. With the help of a mini dauber, I blended the following Altenew Crisp Dye Inks together:

  • for the leaves: Frayed Leaf and Forest Glades,
  • for the flowers: Pink Pearl and Coral Bliss, with just a touch of Mango Smoothie in the center.

I then adhered the Floral Flurries and Monochrome Washi Tapes onto white cardstock and fussy-cut the images to create layers and add dimension to the layout. Once I had everything in place and the photo was ready to be glued down, I used the Brush Alpha Die Set for my title. I blended Peach Perfect, Pinkalicious, and Heart Beat Crisp Dye Inks on a white smooth cardstock and used that to cut the title, which coordinated perfectly with all the other colors on the layout.

I stamped and heat-embossed some sentiments from the Amazing You Stamp Set and placed them on the top and bottom of the photo.

To finish the layout, I arranged a few more embellishments on the page, such as the camera sticker from the Our Family Scrapbook Collection and wood veneer buttons and butterflies from the Reflection Scrapbook Collection.
