Crate Paper – Father’s Day Cards

Hello, CP friends! Enza here, and today I’m sharing two Father’s Day cards using the Here+There and Wild Heart collections.

With less than a week left to the big day, I thought that simple cards would be the way to go, especially if you feel inspired to recreate them. Other than a little bit of die-cutting, the rest is pretty much layering of different elements, such as ephemera pieces, stickers, patterned papers and tags.

For my first card, I used the Here+There collection.

I started by trimming the card panel to measure 4”x5.5”. I wanted a dark, bold background, so I went with the Check-in patterned paper for its rich brown color. Although this is specifically a travel collection, the variety of patterns and colors works for any type of projects. I layered two additional patterned papers to create sort of a frame for my embellishments. I then went to town with the layering. I knew I wanted to include an interactive element, so I used one of the envelopes in the collection as my first layer. I trimmed a photo of our kids to size, punched a whole at the top, and added some pink ribbon to pull it out of the envelope.

I love the paper with the colorful scooters! I trimmed it into a banner shape and backed it with the same Check-in patterned paper I used for the card panel. I then layered a tag behind it and one on top. The sentiment comes from the Good Vibes Specialty Cardstock; I think it’s perfect for a Father’s Day card! To finish the card, I fussy-cut a bigger scooter out of the City Views patterned paper to place below the sentiment, added a sticker heart, and adhered the whole panel to my white card base.

The second card features the Wild Heart collection. I love how bold and masculine it turned out!

As always, I started by trimming my card panel to size (this time 4”x5.25”) and creating sort of a frame for my elements. I picked darker colors and geometric patterns, with a pop of yellow to brighten the card up. I then die-cut the letters from the Thrive paper and adhered them on top of three circles cut out of the Electric paper. I think it creates a nice contrast and really makes the letters stand out.

“The best day” sentiment comes from the Wildly cut apart sheet, while the other two smaller ones are from the Flourish collection. Two tiny blue hearts and some twine wrapped around the card panel added the final touch.

I hope these cards have inspired you to use such amazing collections for Father’s Day cards.

Crate Paper – Here+There: Travel Layout

Hello friends! Today I am sharing a layout I created with the super fun Here+There collection by Crate Paper. I love it! It is truly the perfect collection to document your travels.

I started by fussy-cutting envelopes and postcards out of one of the patterned papers, as I wanted to arrange them in a big cluster on the left side of the page. To create dimension, I popped some of them up with foam dots, while I adhered the others directly onto the page.

I then added lots of embellishments; layers and layers of them. I love rub-ons, so I used quite a few to personalize each envelope/postcard. A mix of tags, chipboard stickers, and ephemera pieces brought in the right amount of texture and dimension.

Next, I partially tucked the photo under the cluster and layered patterned paper and a card from the ephemera pack behind it, while to decorate the top I added sentiment stickers and hearts. The Rotary stamp that comes in this collection is perfect if you want to add a little extra “something” to your pages. Here I picked some generic sentiments to go with my picture.

To balance the layout, I placed the “Explore” chipboard banner in the top right corner of the page. I love its size and how it complements all the other elements. Enamel dots and black splatters added the final touch.

This layout came together rather quickly. After fussy-cutting all the pieces, arranging them on the page was a lot of fun.

Thank you for stopping by! Until next time.
