Pink Paislee – Whimsical Christmas Cards

Hello my crafty friends! How about a set of super fun Christmas cards created with the amazing Whimsical collection? I love how they turned out! So playful and, well, whimsical 😉

Most of the time when I don’t have a themed collection to work with, I turn to cut files for help. The choice of the color scheme makes all the difference and you can achieve any look you like depending on the design you are using.

The first card features the Christmas Tree Background cut file (ID 233785) designed by Paige Evans. The cut file comes in a 12×12 format so I only used a portion of it to fit a 5” square card panel. I had to play around with the placement of the trees, but it was pretty easy to do.

For the color scheme, I went with shades of purple, pink, teal, and green. You can find non traditional color scheme for Christmas décor all over the web. Pinterest is usually my go-to place 🙂

Once I had the background ready, I decided to enlarge one of the trees and make it the focal point of my card. Foam adhesive helped me give it dimension while the gold thread I placed behind it brought in a festive vibe. For the sentiment, I tried to achieve an ombre look with the pretty foam letter stickers which are my favorite right now!

Enamel dots and a gold chipboard star finished the card.

For the second card I used the Ho Ho Ho cut file (ID 232490) also by Paige Evans and tried to incorporate more traditional colors. Green and red with touches of mint and purple.

Here again I had to resize the cut file to fit a 5” square card base. I backed the images with patterned paper and adhered three little trees from the previous card in the middle of the O’s. I added gold thread behind them and used foam adhesive to adhere them down.

For the snowflakes, I simply turned them slightly and gave them dimension with a foam dot before topping them with enamel dots.

Spellbinders + FSJ

Hello everyone! I have a fun set of Christmas cards to share, featuring Spellbinders and Fun Stampers Journey stamp sets and dies. The two companies are coming together today to offer an amazing variety of products in the Spellbinders shop.

Just a few fun facts about Fun Stampers Journey:

1) FSJ stamps are made in the USA of deeply etched red rubber for a perfect impression every time.
2) The thin metal dies are made of steel to give you clean cuts time and time again, without warping or dulling. And, they’re coated in FSJ green so they’re easy to find!
3) They offer over 50 exclusive colors – matching cardstock, ink, ribbon and accessories makes creating easy!
4) Over 50% of their stamps have coordinating dies – no more fussy cutting!

Here are my cards!

For the first card I used the FSJ Christmas Magic Stamp Set. This set is super fun – I love the elf slippers and hat! The sentiment is very classic, with a beautiful font; I heat-embossed it with translucent embossing powder for a glittery look.

To create the window, I used one of the nesting dies included in the Spellbinders Holly Jolly Christmas die set by Becca Feeken. The holly leaves in the top corners of the opening are from the same set.

The second card features the FSJ Santa Approved Stamp Set.

I used it to create a banner for the middle of the card. I stamped the images multiple times on red cardstock with VersaMark Ink, and heat-embossed them with white embossing powder. Simple and fast! I then placed Santa, which I die cut with the Spellbinders Santa D-Lite die set, in the middle of the card. The title comes from the Charming Christmas Word Die Set by Becca Feeken. Some FSJ twine around the top fold of the card added the final touch.
