For my layout today, I combined three products from the new release: Ornate Foliage Stamp Set with coordinating dies, Everlasting Happiness Stamp Set, and Fine Bouquet Die. I couldn’t pick just one, and they look lovely together.

I started by stamping my images from the Ornate Foliage Stamp Set. For the outline, I used Altenew Permanent Black Ink, while for the flowers I went with Eastern Sky, Azurite, Wisteria, Firefly, and Just Green. I also added some yellow with Altenew Artist Marker in Warm Sunshine; I find that it brings in a happy pop of color 🙂 Once those were ready, I continued with the Everlasting Happiness Stamp Set. This time I didn’t add any color, as I liked the black and white contrast.

After arranging my flowers on the background paper, I felt like I needed an extra layer, so I used the Fine Bouquet Die to create sort of a “lace” look. I created two clusters on opposite sides of the page and placed my photo in between.

For the title, I inked the Mega Love die cut with some of the same Crisp Inks I used for the flowers to obtain an ombre effect. Two acetate butterflies and black splatters finished the layout.

To celebrate this release, Altenew is giving away a $50 gift certificate to 6 lucky winners! Please leave a comment on the Altenew Card Blog and/or Altenew Scrapbook Blog by 5/15/2019 for a chance to win.

We’ll also draw a winner to receive a $20 gift certificate from the comments left on each designer’s blog. All winners will be announced on the Altenew blogs on 5/18/2019.

Altenew – Washi Tape Background

Hello there, crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a new layout featuring some amazing Altenew products.

Creating different and unique backgrounds is always a fun challenge for me. Let’s say that if I don’t use patterned paper as my base, I try to come up with other options until I find what best fits the idea I have in mind. One of the products I love to use is washi tape, and Altenew has some pretty, colorful ones that allow for fun combinations.

Here is how it came together!

I started with white textured cardstock, to which I adhered three strips of Red Ombre Washi Tape. I went with a horizontal design, adding one strip to the top and two to the bottom. Since I haven’t had any luck finding adhesive that permanently sticks to washi tape, I decided to leave a blank area in the middle of the page to glue my cluster to.

Next, I cut a circular floral cut file to use as bottom layer – I love the texture it adds! I stamped daisies from the Get Well Soon Stamp Set and colored them using Altenew Watercolor 36 Pan Set.

Once those were ready, I matted my photo with patterned paper from the Pastel Dreams 6×6 Paper Pack; I also wrapped some natural colored twine around it. I arranged the daises around the photo, adhering them down with foam dots for dimension, and added two sentiments from the Reason To Smile Stamp Set to the right side.

To fill in the empty spaces between the flowers, I die cut leaves from the Garden Picks 3D Die Set and tucked them under the cluster. I used white cardstock, as it adds an extra layer but doesn’t distract from the colorful stamped images.

That’s all for today, friends. Is washi tape something you would use to build your own background? Altenew has so many options to choose from, it’s impossible to pick just one.

Thank you for stopping by!

Today I’m bringing you a new layout featuring the Rose Spray Stamp Set and coordinating dies.

Like always, I started by stamping multiple images with a variety of colors. I chose Pink Pearl, Coral Bliss and Heart Beat for the red roses, Volcano Lake, Lagoon and Emerald for the teal ones, Just Green and Hunter Green for some of the leaves and Evening Gray and Moon Rock for others. Since my favorite technique is layering, I like to have many die cuts that I can use to create dimension and texture by grouping them into clusters.

For my background, I adhered Dotted Washi Tape to white cardstock that I had previously trimmed to measure 11” square. I only covered the top half, as I wanted to bring in a fun and unexpected element. I then matted it with a pretty aqua cardstock that kind of matched the color of the teal roses.

I hid the line between the washi tape and the cardstock with roses and leaves, alternating colors and using foam dots to adhere them in place. I arranged the photo in the middle and added two sentiments from the Live Your Dream Scrapbook Collection, while the additional wooden embellishments come from the Sweet Hearts Adhesive Wood Veener pack.

Paint splatters in coordinating colors finished the layout.
