Spellbinders – Christmas Projects using Holiday Die D-Lites

Hello everyone. Today I am sharing the first of two blog posts featuring the super fun Holiday Die D-Lites by Spellbinders. I love the whimsical images of these sets; they are so cute and perfect for the upcoming holiday season! They are also very versatile and can be used to create cards, tags, gift wrapping elements, ornaments, and much more.

For my projects today, I have decided to go with the traditional red and green color combination. I have two cards and two tags to share.

Let’s start with the cards!

They both feature a horizontal design and dimensional elements. For the first one, I used the Die D-Lites Christmas Tree Etched Dies.

I started by trimming the green dotted paper to measure 5.25×4.25”. I then used the outline image of the tree to cut two shapes directly on the patterned paper, one towards the right, the other on the opposite side of the card panel – I placed them at different heights to give it a more “natural” look, kind of like a landscape. Next, I adhered down the positive spaces of the die cut with foam dots to give it dimension, making sure to have the B side of the patterned paper show. For the tree in the middle,

To finish the card, I added the sentiment and matted the panel with an A2 white card base – I liked the idea of having some of the white color show on just two sides of the card.

The second card features the Die D-Lites Santa Etched Dies.

This set is too cute for words! I absolutely love it! The design here is a bit simpler. It’s just strips of patterned papers cut to size to create a background. The red and green thin ones between the larger piece and the white cardstock were added for more definition. After assembling Santa, I adhered it on top of a red plaid tag with foam adhesive, and added natural colored twine for a vintage feel.

Like the previous card, I opted to mat the card panel, this time with kraft cardstock, which coordinates perfectly with the twine.

Now onto the tags!

Both tags measure 3.5×4.5”, and they both feature a circular design in the middle. The first one was created with the Die D-Lites Snowman Etched Dies.

I adore all the little details in this set, and I love that you can customize the individual pieces to create unique looks. I adhered the snowman on top of two circular shapes from the Special Day Frame Etched Dies by Marisa Job, alternating the layers with foam adhesive, so to obtain a dimensional piece.

For the second tag, I used the Die D-Lites Reindeer Etched Dies.

I used kraft cardstock for the reindeer, and inked the edges to create more definition. I then placed one of the Laced Flowers Etched Dies by Marisa Job behind it before adhering it down onto the circle.

Crate Paper – Willow Lane Gift Tags

Hello, CP friends! Today I’m sharing a set of tags created with the gorgeous Willow Lane collection by Maggie Holmes. Saying I adore this collection is an understatement; the colors, patterns, and unique embellishments are just perfect and suitable for any paper crafting project.

One of my passions is gift wrapping and pretty packaging. I think there is something extra special in adding a personalized touch to your gifts. Today I’m bringing you three gift tags, and I’m also going to share the finished wrapped presents using the new Gift Wrap Book that comes with the collection.

One thing these tags have in common is lots of layers. I started by choosing a background patterned paper, on which I then adhered several other tags and embellishments. The specialty vellum paper with its gold foiling details worked perfectly to bring in some sparkle and soften the overall look of the tags, also adding a more feminine touch.

Don’t you just love those cute little thread bows? I would use them on everything! Same with the gorgeous butterflies from the Flutter patterned paper.

Here I stitched them together to bring in dimension and texture, and arranged them around a sentiment I fussy-cut from the cut-apart sheet.

The third tag was inspired by the pockets that come in the Journaling Ephemera pack. I cut patterned paper to size, created a scalloped edge, and machine-stitched it to the bottom tag to create a pocket, which I then filled with a couple of die-cuts. I also used the Rub-ons to complete my sentiment, and finished it with the lovely sequined flower.

Now onto the finished wrapped boxes. The paper in the Gift Wrap Book is thick and durable, and it comes in gorgeous patterns and colors. All I had to do was choose a ribbon that coordinated with the tags.

Altenew – Gift Tags with Our Family Scrapbook Collection

Hello, everyone!

Enza here and today I am sharing a couple of gift tags featuring the beautiful Our Family Scrapbook Collection.

I love making tags; not only because they can be a lovely handmade addition to any gift, but they are versatile enough to be used as an embellishment on a scrapbook page or a card. I always start by choosing the patterned paper for the background and collect all the possible embellishments I can use.

For the first tag, I went with a floral patterned paper, which I backed with heavy white cardstock to make it more durable. I watercolored the same image from the Build-A-Flower: Coral Charm Stamp Set twice, trying to match the colors with the ones in the background. I also cut some banners to use as a layering element. The “love” chipboard sticker included in the collection fit perfectly on top of the flowers. I adhered everything down with foam adhesive for dimension and finished the tag with enamel dots and blue ribbon.

The second tag is very similar to the first in terms of design but has a different color scheme. The background is more neutral and allowed for some stamping. I used the little flowers from the same set, which I stamped with Altenew Crisp Dye Ink in Moon Rock color. Very subtle but still noticeable.

I layered one of the stickers from the Our Family Collection with patterned paper and adhered it down with foam adhesive. The floral embellishment came from the same sticker sheet, and I also used washi tape to create some separation from the background. I finished the tag with twine.

Thank you so much for stopping by!

I hope these tags have inspired you to use the Our Family Scrapbook Collection in a fun way.
