Spellbinders – February 2019 Large Die of the Month

Hello friends! I’m back today to share a set of cards created with the February 2019 Spellbinders Large Die of the Month kit. I love the delicate look of these dies; the layered butterfly is stunning and the perfect size for any type of project. And the tiny flowers and foliage add to the spring theme of the set.

I used the same collection and colors for both cards, changing just the layout and placement of the die cut pieces.

For the first card, I simply arranged two layers of patterned paper on top of an A2 card base. I then chose a sentiment, matted it with gold foiled paper and adhered it on top of a tag.

For the butterfly, I went with the same gold paper for one of the layers and the body, while for the rest I used white cardstock and a light pink paper from the collection. The tiny flowers are adorable! I placed them on the opposite side of the butterfly to balance the look of the card. Enamel dots added the final touch.

The second card features more of the little flowers.

This time I used patterned paper to “cut” the card in half and create sort of a fence or window. Before arranging the tiny die cuts, I found a placement for the butterfly; flowers and leaves were then layered around the lower portion of the wings. To complete the card, I die cut the “Bonjour” sentiment and adhered it below the butterfly.

I truly enjoyed playing with this kit. Visit the Spellbinders shop to start your subscription and get creative with their amazing products.
