Crate Paper – Valentine’s Day Pockets

Hello there, friends! I’m excited to share some quick and easy Valentine’s Day pockets featuring the super fun La La Love collection by Crate Paper.

Every year, I help my kids make Valentines for their classmates and friends; from sweet treats to fun little messages, we try to find simple, handmade crafts that won’t take much time.

Here’s a look at the pockets:

Let’s see how they came together!

I started by making the pockets with the We R Memory Keepers Pocket Punch Board. After choosing the patterned paper I wanted to use, I trimmed it to measure 7×5.75 inches, so to create a pocket that would fit a 3×4 card. We got all our papers ready before assembling the pockets; it made the whole process go faster.

I fussy cut the cards from the In Love paper, embellished them with die cuts and stickers, and matted them with more fun papers.

To decorate the pockets, I used a mix of die cuts, chipboard stickers, and tags. For the one below, I layered a tag from the Ephemera Pack, a foam sticker heart with lovely glitter accents, and that super cute dog! Sentiments stickers and red twine finished the pocket. To keep it closed, without having to glue the flap or find a more time-consuming way to do it, I used a paper clip, which also added some dimension.

I followed the same layering technique for the second and third pockets, with tags, die cuts and sentiments. I love the cupcake and the XO paper clips! So fun! They bring in an interactive element that kids love. For one of the pockets, I also wrapped glittery washi tape around it, just to give it some sparkle.

Thank you for stopping by today. I’m very pleased with how these pockets turned out, and can’t wait to make more!

Until next time!
