One more Pink Paislee project for you today! I’m trying to get caught up with all the posts I haven’t shared on my personal blog yet 🙂
I have been wanting to make a rainbow layout for a while, but never got around to it as I wasn’t sure about how to approach the design of my page. What I mean is that I had seen so many beautiful projects on social media that I was a bit intimidated by it and kept putting it off. I wanted to make something that looked different and more like my style while still giving the idea of a rainbow. Here is what I came up with:
I went through my stash of hand punches and found this gorgeous butterfly one that I thought was perfect for it. I picked some gorgeous patterned paper from the Whimsical collection and went to town punching. The butterflies measure roughly 1.5 inches, so I only needed twelve per row, as I slightly overlapped them making sure to keep the wings up.
I arranged the top row first which gave me the pattern to follow. I love all the dimension on this page! The rainbow looks exactly how I pictured it in my mind!
Once the background was ready I added a small photo of my kids towards the bottom left corner of the page. I used a chipboard frame as well as flowers and a few embellishments to decorate it. I kept it simple to balance the rest of the page.
The gorgeous printed Chipboard Thickers that come in the collection worked perfectly for my title which follows the curve of the butterflies on both the top and the bottom rows.
To finish the layout I added a few colorful clouds above the rainbow.
I’m so happy about the way this page turned out. I couldn’t love it more! Thank you for stopping by today!
