I had the pleasure to work with the August Card Kit this month, which is packed with wonderful goodies. I created five cards, and I have so many supplies left!

I love the wafer thin dies that come in the kit. For the first card, I used mostly those to create a floral card. I die cut flowers and leaves out of patterned paper and colored cardstock, and arranged them in clusters on the card panel. The Metallic Gold Poster Board Sheet that I used to mat it is another nice addition to the kit; it is thick and shiny, just perfect for any project. I backed the sentiment sticker with the same paper, as well as gold thread, before adhering it down. The enamel dots are the only thing the come from my stash.

For the second card, I decided to use one of the dies to create my background. I simply die cut the shapes out of textured cardstock and patterned paper, and formed colorful rows on the panel. I kept the embellishments to a minimum; I just adhered a die-cut and sentiment in the center with foam squares. I also used more of the gold thread behind it to give it some shine.

For the next two card, I used a beautiful floral patterned paper and several die cuts. I love layering different elements on my cards to create dimension and texture; that’s what I did here with patterned paper, chipboard embellishments, and ribbon.

The last card has to be my favorite. In the kit, you’ll find five colors of ribbon that perfectly coordinate with all the other elements. I decided to create a diagonal design by adhering the ribbon down with the double-sided adhesive that comes in the kit (yes, you also get a roll of tape and foam squares!), alternating the beautiful pinks to the vibrant green.

Have a wonderful day!
