Pink Paislee – Intricate Background Cards

Hello friends! Today I’m bringing you a set of cards that are a little time consuming, but very easy to make. I like intricate backgrounds, especially on cards. They create so much interest and make the design process a little easier, as the main work is already done for you. I used the Confetti Wishes Cardmaking Kit, which includes everything you might need to create your cards – I added a few other embellishments from the collection as well.

The first card took literally twenty minutes.

I used dies from my stash to create the background. I chose an ombre pink note card and just adhered the die cut on top with liquid glue. Some people prefer spray adhesive when it comes to intricate shapes, but any liquid glue works as well. It just requires a bit of patience, as you want to make sure the whole panel is completely adhered down. I then arranged lots of chipboard stickers at the bottom of the circle, added the sentiment, and puffy stickers to complete the look.

As a finishing touch, I added liquid drops in coordinating colors to cover some of the holes in the die cut. I let it dry over night and now it’s ready to go in the mail.

The second card was easier but a little time consuming.

I started with this gorgeous background die from my stash. I cut it out three times, one from white cardstock, one from green patterned paper, and the last one from pink ombre patterned paper from the Pick-Me-Up collection. I adhered the first layer to the pre-made notecard from the kit, then I filled some of the opening with bits and pieces from the green panel, just to bring in a contrasting color. I finally adhered the top layer to finish the background.

Since the background is very intricate, I kept the embellishments to a minimum. I love parrots and the kit comes with two chipboard ones that are the perfect size for an A2 card. I placed them facing each other – I thought it was cute and ideal as an engagement or wedding card. I finished the card with a heart chipboard sticker and a sentiment. I also added enamel dots in some of the openings for more interest.
