Hello there! Today I’m sharing a masculine layout featuring the Turn the Page and Pick-Me-Up collections by Paige Evans for Pink Paislee. If you know my work, you might have noticed I tend to scrapbook pictures of my daughters most of the time. There is something in feminine colors that just calls my name 😉 Since we also have a son and he deserves the same attention, I have decided to challenge myself a little more and make at least one masculine page for every two feminine ones. That’s my goal for the immediate future and I sure hope I’ll stick to the plan!
For my layout today, I backed this Triangles Background cut file with a mix of papers from the two collections mentioned above. I picked colors that matched or complemented the ones in the pictures, such as orange, teal, blue, yellow, and gray – the background patterned paper came from the old Citrus Bliss collection (one of my favorites!).
Instead of placing the cut file in the middle of the page, I opted to adhere it towards the left side. I used foam dots underneath the ends to lift it a bit and give it dimension.
I matted my photo on white cardstock and layered several patterned papers behind it. I love including tags whenever I can; here I put one towards the top. I also added lots of fussy cut stars all around the photo, trying to match the colors to the ones underneath, and a big wood veneer star on the left side.
For the title, I used the “happiness” chipboard sticker and a sentiment that I fussy cut from a patterned paper in the Pick-Me-Up 6×6 Paper Pad. I then continued adding bits and pieces here and there around the page.
To balance the left side and bring more interest to the page, I placed washi tape on the opposite side and arranged two ephemera pieces and some fussy cut stars in the top corner.
I finished the layout off with some tiny rub-on stars and black splatters.
I love how this layout turned out! I hope you’ll feel inspired to create a masculine page with the gorgeous Pink Paislee collections. Until next time!
