Pink Paislee – Hand Stitching: Stitched Background

Hello, PP friends! I’m back today with a new layout for Hand Stitching week. I have always loved stitching on layouts and recently my main inspiration has been the amazing geometric designs on patterned papers. I think it’s fun to add stitching to a pattern that is already on the paper to highlight it and give it a detailed look.

I chose Paper 01 from the gorgeous Auburn Lane collection and went to town with the stitching. At first I just wanted to create a diagonal design and concentrate all the stitching in the top left portion of the page, but I was having too much fun so I ended up adding a little bit more 😉

Once the background was ready, I built a few layers behind the photo with patterned paper from the same collection. I built a floral cluster with fussy-cut elements and die-cuts and to add extra detail I used lots of rub-ons around it. I love how the white flowers pop against the background.

I tucked a card from the cut-apart sheet under the photo on the left side and used the “Fantastic” sticker as my title.

A few heart stickers scattered around the page finished the layout.

I enjoyed creating this layout and love how it turned out. Hand-stitching is a great way to give your projects a unique look. Find those geometric patterns you love the most and just give it a new look by adding some stitching.

Until next time!
