Hello, crafty friends!
I’m so excited to be joining the Spellbinders Blog Hop this month! You should have arrived from the amazing Nichol Spohr‘s blog.
Today we are showcasing the following collections:
Romancing the Swirl by Becca Feeken
I have two cards to share with you featuring the Twisted Stamp and Die set from the Perfect Collection by Debi Adams. I love this collection! The adorable designs, paired with the funny, punny sentiments are just to die for! My idea for these cards was to keep the playful vibe going by using candy-like colors and fun patterns.
For the first card, I die cut all the pretzels three times, once from patterned paper and two from white cardstock; I glued the layers together before arranging them in a circular shape to form a wreath. I heat-embossed the sentiment in the center and then fussy-cut around the whole piece. This way I could create dimension by adhering it down on my card panel with foam adhesive.
To mimic the look of coarse salt, I used Clear Round Drops by Studio Katia all over the pretzels. I then foam mounted my card panel to a square 6”x6” card base. I love big cards, and this is definitely BIG!
I finished it off with some twine wrapped around the spine of the card.
For the next card, I went for a more layered look.
I first stamped and die cut the mustard bottle from smooth white cardstock before coloring it with alcohol markers. I used alcohol markers for the pretzel as well, while the little salt chunks were made with a Sakura Gelly Roll 0.8 White Pen.
I created a focal point for the two images by adhering white cardstock on top of several layers of patterned paper; I then foam mounted both pretzel and mustard bottle and placed them inside the white space.
To add interest and a fun twist, I used twine around the framed images and enamel dots in coordinating colors. I finished the card with the sentiment, which was heat-embossed on a strip of black cardstock with white embossing powder and adhered with foam tape.
