Hello everyone! I am so excited to be participating in the Altenew Celebrating Parents Card Drive Blog Hop this year. The goal is to send cards for the elderly that live in nursing homes or shelters to let them know they are loved and not forgotten. Please check out the details at Celebrating Parents Card Drive and join this great cause by sending in cards.
You should have arrived from the amazing Nina-Marie‘s blog. Here is the full list for your convenience:
– 20% of the profits earned from the following sets (Best Dad, Painted Rose, Penned Rose, Extra Special, and Best Mom) by 6/17/2017 will be donated to Food Bank of Central New York to support seniors in need.
I have created four cards for this hop. Two for my dad and two for my mom.
create a variety of different cards.
I went for a colorful card. Masculine but also very vibrant. I started by stamping all the images with Altenew Permanent Black Crisp Ink and colored them with a combination of Artist Markers from all the three sets: A, B, and C. I then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.
I simply heat-hembossed all the images with Pure White Embossing Powder onto a 4”x5.25” blue wood grain card panel. I varied the orientation of the stamps to bring in a fun element. I then die-cut two stars with the Halftone Stars Nesting Die Set and adhered them in the center of the card. I used foam adhesive in between the layers for dimension. The heat-embossed sentiment on black cardstock finished the card.
Now for my mom…
I heat-embossed the sentiment with Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder, mounted the panel onto a green wood grain card base, and finished it all with white and yellow enamel dots.
