The layout I created for today’s hop is all about the first scrapbook collection Altenew came out with. I remember staring at all the gorgeous papers and embellishments and just drooling over every single piece. With its watercolor effects, the Reflection Collection is still a favorite.

I started by picking the striped paper as backgroung. My idea was to create a tone-on-tone look, and I kind of did at the end, but there is more going on on this page. I used the Rose Filament Die set to cut out all the roses, that I arranged in a circular shape. I just wanted to see the outline of the roses, so I didn’t back them with patterned paper.

I then built a few layers behind my picture and adhered it down with foam dots. Since in the photo you can notice a wheel, I thought the bicycle chipboard sticker would be the perfect embellishment.

To make the colors pop up more and create that tone-on-tone look I mentioned above, I made some pinwheels in coordinating cardstock and placed them on the left side of the page.

Some enamel dots and wood veneer buttons from the same Reflection Collection finished the layout.

Be sure to leave comments by April 15th, 2018 at 11:59 PM EDT for a chance to win! 30 WINNERS will be chosen at random from the comments left on any of the blogs listed below and will be announced on the Altenew blog on April 17th, 2018.

Your next stop is the wonderful Erum!

Thank you for stopping by! Have fun hopping along!

  1. Such a fun layout! I love the little pinwheels on top of the die cut roses. The design forming a wreath around your photos is a winner. Great job! Thanks for participating in the blog hop today. Happy Anniversary, Altenew!

  3. What a beautiful page! Love the rainbow paper in the background. The rose outlines allows for the colours to shine through and is so pretty. Then adding the tone on tone coloured pinwheel adds so much dimension. All the added embellishments and layers adds interest and seem to finish off the layout perfectly. I love everything about this page!!
