Crate Paper – Banner Wreath Layout

Hello everyone! I’m back today to share a new layout I created for Crate Paper with the gorgeous Flourish collection. The main goal for this page was to incorporate lots of patterned paper, and the best way to do it for me is by creating a patchwork design.

I started by cutting the banners. I used my die cutting machine, but you can totally use scissors or craft punches for this. The banners on the outer circle are slightly bigger than the ones on the inside. I cut a 6-inch circle out of copy paper to use as a guide and just adhered the banners against the edge. I used re-positionable adhesive to just keep them in place, and then after making sure they looked good I went back and popped them up with foam dots. You can see the dimension this extra step adds in the picture below.

Once my background was ready, I arranged photo and ephemera pieces towards the bottom portion of the wreath. Again lots of layers created with die-cut flowers, gold puffy stickers, and the pretty vellum terrarium that comes in the collection. I also added some sentiments from the sticker sheet and shaped them as banners to kind of repeat the same design.

For my title, I picked the “sweet” puffy sentiment sticker, which I placed in the bottom right portion of the page along the line of the wreath. Since I wanted to repeat the gold element in the opposite corner of the layout, I went with gold puffy hearts.

White paint splashes and enamel dots, as well as cross-stitched details, finished the layout.

I love how this page turned out. This type of patchwork design is definitely becoming one of my favorites. What do you think? Is it something you feel inspired to try? I would love to know 🙂

Thank you for stopping by!
