Pink Paislee – Fussy-cutting: A Favorite Technique

Hello friends! Fussy Cutting” week continues on the blog, and today I’m bringing you a new layout created with the amazing Pick-Me-Up collection.

I LOVE fussy cutting! I would fussy cut all the things! It is one of my favorite techniques; I find that it relaxes me, and the fact that I can do it while sitting on the couch or watching a movie is definitely a plus. It also allows me to personalize my layouts by “transforming” patterned paper into a unique element for my design. The beautiful floral Paper 02 was calling my name. I fussy cut the entire patterned paper before even thinking about how to arrange the flowers.

I decided to fill up the top portion of the page and, to repeat more of the same design, I created a big cluster in the bottom right corner as well. I adhered everything down with foam adhesive. I really like the dimension it adds.

I kept the rest of the layout pretty simple. The fussy cut flowers are the main element on the page so I didn’t want to distract from them. I also felt that any more embellishments wouldn’t have been noticed enough. I layered the photos with patterned papers, Journaling Spots, and a few die-cuts from the Ephemera pack.

The rub-ons in this collection are so fun! I added quite a few around the pictures: moths, tiny flowers, a framed sentiment.

Thank you for stopping by today! I hope this has inspired you to go ahead and fussy cut some of the gorgeous papers in the Pick-Me-Up collection to make a unique layout!
