Altenew – Floral Layout With My Favorite Elements and Techniques

Hello, Altenew fans!

Enza here, and today I am sharing a layout that incorporates some of my favorites: a cut file, gorgeous, fussy-cut flowers, and beautiful watercolors.

I started by fussy-cutting one of the patterned papers in the Our Family Scrapbook Collection.

My initial idea was to arrange the flowers all around the circular cut file, but I ended up creating only two clusters of embellishments in opposite corners of the page. I love the soft, pastel watercolor tones against the bright blue background, as well as the green and magenta elements, which bring in more contrast and interest to the whole design.

To add more layers to the clusters, I colored some paper with watercolors using different gradients of pink and used the Rose Filament Die Set to cut a few roses. Everything was adhered down with pop dots to achieve dimension. I also decided to stamp some leaves from the Freeform Greenery Stamp Set with Dark Chocolate Crisp Ink around the flowers.

Sometimes I have leftover stamped images from previous projects that I like to incorporate if they fit the color scheme.

Here, I added some flowers from the Wild About You Stamp Set, and also the “lovely” sentiment from the Sketchy Floral Stamp Set. The arrow comes from the Point It Out Stamp Set.

I tucked the photo under the main cluster and created a tag that served as my title.

For the tag, I just stamped a sentiment from the Crafty Friends Stamp Set and heat-embossed it with Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder. I then layered it on some black cardstock for contrast and adhered it to patterned paper. Enamel dots in coordinating colors finished the layout.
