Hello everyone! I am back today to share a set of monochromatic cards featuring the Pick-Me-Up collection. I should say “almost monochromatic”, as you’ll see pops of yellow here and there 😉 Apart from the embellishments, the 6×6 Paper Pad is all I used.
For the first card, I picked a striped background. I love the pink, red, and purple tones. As I wanted to incorporate multiple patterns, I went with a quilt design. I used a cut file (ID #39776) to make my life easier, but you can achieve a similar result with a circle punch by overlapping the circles.
I used foam adhesive to adhere the shape down and added the “keep dreaming” gold banner on top.
A few more accents were added in the top left and bottom right corners of the card. I love the rub-ons in this collection! So fun! A piece of twine wrapped around the fold of the card gave it the final touch.
For the second card, I recreated the striped effect with patterned papers in blue and teal shades.
I distressed the edges a little to give it more texture. Again, I have my sentiment in the middle, mounted on foam adhesive, and twine around the fold.
I used one of the Journaling Spots as a layer behind the sentiment and a couple of stickers on top: a moth and a heart in coordinating colors.
I love how these cards turned out. Find the colors that speak to you and give this monochromatic technique a try. It’s fun!
