Pink Paislee – Back To School: Personalized School Supplies

Hello friends! I can’t believe school is about to start in my part of the world! Summer has flown by and we are definitely not ready to get back to our normal routine. That said, I have always loved this time of the year. What is more exciting than buying school supplies and new clothes? For today’s project I decided to use the new gorgeous Turn The Page collection designed by Paige Evans to personalize my daughter’s writing notebook, cubby name tag, and bookmark.

The hard cover on the composition notebook you see here made it easy to embellish. The binding tape on the spine also helped with the placement of the paper, so I didn’t have to measure too much. I just adhered the paper down against the tape and cut around the edges. When covering the spine, just make sure you can easily open and close the notebook and that your paper is wide enough to go past the edge of the binding tape. This was a very simple project that came together in no time. I love the look of it! Paper 22, with its paper planes in different colors fits the theme quite well and is super fun.

My daughter loves quotes. The Turn The Page collection has so many to choose from! She picked a beautiful one from the cut apart sheet which I just backed with some black cardstock to make it stand out more. I also added some lace ribbon to cover the straight edges between the two patterned papers. I love the feminine feel of it! To finish the notebook I fussy cut the bird and some flowers to adhere on the left hand side of the quote and a puffy sticker for the top right corner.

Next, I worked on a name tag for Giulia’s cubby. I used the lovely layered stamps that come in the collection to create my own background using inks that matched the colors in the papers. The ribbon under the name adds more texture and color. Heart and leaf sequins were used to decorate the little loop at the top for which I also made a yellow tassel with embroidery floss.

For the back, I fussy cut a quote from Paper 21 and added a couple of flowers for extra color.

Just a note about the paper clips you see in the photo… I used some washi tape from the collection to decorate them. How cute are they?

Third and last project for today is a bookmark. I fussy cut some flowers from Paper 15 and adhered them together to create a “charm”. To cover the back I used some patterned paper that also served as an outline for the flowers.

For the actual bookmark I used a quote once again. To jazz it up a little I stitched leaf sequins all around the edge. I absolutely love how it turned out! A simple touch that didn’t require a lot of time and made a huge difference!

Twine was the best option to connect the two pieces. I also used eyelets to reinforce the punched holes and make them more durable.

I really had a lot of fun creating these back-to-school projects. A few simple touches can help you personalize your kids’ supplies and create unique pieces to brighten their school days 😉 Have a lovely day!
