For my project today, I have decided to use the Layered Dahlia Stencils A and B to create embellishments.
One of the things I love about this stencils is that you can obtain three different images of the flower, allowing for a more natural and realistic look when it comes to layering. To start, I created several sets of the dahlia in a variety of colors. I used the following Altenew Crisp Inks: Mountain Mist, Volcano Lake, Rose Quartz, Puffy Hearts, Mango Smoothie, Warm Sunshine, Lavender Fields, and Midnight Violet.
I knew I wanted to use a white background for my page, so I decided to heat-emboss the edges of the flowers with some gold powder to make them stand out more. A layer of vellum, as well as some die cut dahlias, were added to create more interest and texture.
My idea was to concentrate most of the layering on the left side of the page. For the border, I cut some strips out of a few patterned papers that come in the Reflection Scrapbook collection, and adhered the dahlias down with foam dots. I love all the dimension this little step adds.
To keep continuity throughout the page, a few more flowers were added behind the photos.
Wood veneer butterflies and a few epoxy dots completed the layout.
I love stencils, and these new Altenew ones are just amazing.
Your next stop is Agnieszka Malyszek.
Have fun hopping along and don’t forget to leave a comment for a change to win.
Have a lovely day!
