Pink Paislee – My first layout.

Hello, friends! I am so excited to share with you my very first layout as a Pink Paislee design team member. This is a dream come true for me! Getting to work with these gorgeous collections alongside amazingly talented designers is truly an honor.

My inspiration for today’s layout came from the beautiful butterflies in the Moonstruck collection. I chose Paper 05 as my background. I wanted to keep my page as light and airy as possible. The soft pinks and feminine touches in the collection are perfect for this picture of my daughter.

I started by cutting several butterflies out of different patterned papers. I varied the size of the butterflies in order to create more movement. I also thought it would be nice to add extra texture and give the page a 3D effect by layering the patterned paper butterflies on top of vellum ones. I hand-stitched through the middle so I could lift the wings and achieve a more realistic look.

Once ready, I positioned the butterflies in a circle to create a frame for my picture. I also fussy cut some of the gorgeous teal butterflies out of Paper 08 to balance off all the white and pink hues.

I kept the embellishments to a minimum. I just layered some ephemera pieces under my picture and used a few gold rub-on stars and hearts to create a magical feel. I chose the word Timeless as my title. I think it goes perfectly with this pensive and sweet image of my daughter.

I finished the layout up with a double layer of paper strips to go at the top of my page. I distressed the edges to give it a more romantic and “timeless” look.

It is amazing how much inspiration a single piece of patterned paper or element in a collection can bring! I hope you enjoyed reading about my process. I am looking forward to sharing more with you! Have a lovely day!
